OUR COACHES

OVERVIEW

David has wide-ranging leadership and management experience in complex change contexts. Starting as a hospital porter, he built a successful track-record in large NHS teaching hospitals. He held management roles in ancillary, hospital and clinical services, and director level roles for major hospital-wide transformation programmes, research, and strategy. He now works across UK, Ireland, and the US with bio tech and finance companies, education, and the third sector.

Through his extensive work with diverse multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams, he is deeply skilled in bringing groups together to understand and navigate the unique challenges they experience.

DAVID DAWSON

APPROACH

Relationships are central to his approach. He creates safe yet challenging spaces to bring out the best in individuals and teams. He forges partnerships that unleash creativity, capacity to positively reframe situations, courage to experiment, and confidence to make positive choices for improvement.

He works one-on-one, co-ordinates Action Learning with teams, and designs and facilitates team building, culture, leadership, and strategy workshops for international organisations. He uses the power of storytelling, active listening, different thinking, appreciative inquiry, improvisation, and experiential learning to radically improve decision-making and effective action amid complexity and ambiguity.

PERSONAL

David has a Masters in Organisational Change and is accredited as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He loves the variety and vibrancy of London, interior design, modern furniture and architecture, art, music and reading. He indulges his melancholia by watching Charlton Athletic.
